The Baden Powell Scouts of Denmark

The Baden Powell Scouts of Denmark is an apolitical and non-religious association admitting both boys and girls from the age of 7. We endeavor to create an exciting and inspiring environment emphasizing the importance of practical skills. In addition, we aim to develop independent young people who are willing to take on responsibility in the Danish society and in the world. We place great emphasis on the fundamentals of the scout movement, e.g. outdoor activities, friendship, teamwork, and helpfulness.

Our scout association is structured around 6 age groups: The 5-7 year olds, 7-10 year olds, the 10-12 year olds, the 12-18 year olds, the 18-24 year olds, and the ones aged 25 and up. In each age group the activities and the camps are tailored to match and to challenge the abilities of the scouts.
Nationwide, The Baden Powell Scouts of Denmark is the smallest scout association with about 1000 members and is composed of 20 troops spread throughout the country. Our troops are self-managing and independently plan and carry through their work plans. Once a year, the troops meet in friendly matches challenging their skills. Despite the fact that The Baden Powell Scouts of Denmark is the smallest scout association in the country, we are the only ones enjoying growth in the number of members.
Finally, we are members of The World Federation of Independent Scouts (WFIS), which is an international union of scout associations that share our basic values and our attitudes towards scouting.
